Navnið Johanna stavar sjálvsagt frá sluppini Johanna TG 326, sum hevur verið heimahoyrandi í Vági síðani í 1894, tá Jákup Dahl keypti sluppina í Grimsby og hon fekk navnið Johanne, og var hetta fyrsta skip sum Dahl á Gørðunum í Vági átti.
